Miranda Wallis

‘Capture’ Ring
Miranda’s ring ‘Capture’ consists of a half dome of 1.2mm wires criss-crossing and snaking up to form a hollow basket. The end of each wire is set with a 3mm cultured pearl. Contained within the centre of the basket is an 11mm Tahitian Pearl which is surrounded by 1.2mm diamonds totalling 0.23ct, bead set along the edge of the pearl cup.
As an avid scuba diver, Miranda is inspired by the complex natural forms below the surface of the ocean. The structure of fan coral with branches growing up and curving around to form a basket shape inspired her to create a piece which replicated this natural beauty and this formation created the perfect surrounding for a beautiful pearl.
By carefully balancing the gauge of the platinum wire with a support structure ‘Capture’ maintains the appearance and vulnerability of coral whilst still being a beautiful wearable piece.
Miranda graduated in Jewellery and 3D design in Australia before moving to London 9 years ago where she has continued to work within the jewellery industry. She has just started her own company, Mirranna, which produces high quality jewellery specialising in CAD.
