‘Hydra’ Ring
‘Hydra’ is a platinum swirled ring, set with sparkling white diamonds. The platinum and diamond pavé set ring swirls around the finger to leave a trail of glittering fine diamond cut curb chain. This ring has been created to be a show stopping piece of platinum and diamond design. “Neptunian in style, ‘Hydra’s’ diamond pavé set body curls itself elegantly around the finger, releasing undulating chain tentacles.
As a diver, Katie has always had a fascination and love for the ocean and the mysteries which lie beneath its inviting surface. Colourful, alien-worlds beckon and call us to discover what hidden treasures can be found on the ocean bed. The oceans feature heavily throughout the ages in myth and legend. The ‘Hydra’ is one such sea creature to unleash it’s wrath and create fear amongst mortals. In Greek myth the ‘Hydra’ was a feared sea monster and guardian of the Underworld. She’s described as an ancient, serpent-like creature, with many heads, venomous blood and breath.
‘Shakti’ Pendant
A platinum swirled pendant, pavé set with white and champagne diamonds graduating in colour along the arms. The platinum pendant symbolises ‘shakti’; the personified concept of sacred force, creation and female empowerment that goddesses possess. Taking inspiration from the radiant goddess, Durga, Katie has created an elegant, swirled platinum, pendant representing the embodiment of her feminine force (or shakti). Her radiance is shown emanating outwards from the central circle of diamonds, set in gold, through to the ten pave set platinum arms. The arms touch in places creating shapes which reflect the petals of the lotus flower, one of the many weapons of Durga. These petals in turn represent female beauty and celebrate creation. A platinum chain is looped through the pendant to create a modern way of wearing a bejewelled piece steeped in tradition and symbolism.
Katie amazed fashion and jewellery critics with her sharp amalgamation of graphics, typography and opulent jewellery. She trained in graphic design at Kingston University in 2003, before discovering her passion for ready to wear and high-end jewellery. Katie has become an award-winning brand, designing and producing sumptuous high-end adornment and has a celebrity clientele including Cheryl Cole, Danny Minogue, Daisy Lowe, Noel Fielding and US R&B star, Keri Hilson to name but a few.
